An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Lymphoedema Service at Ipswich Hospital.  Lymphoedema is a long-term chronic condition that causes swelling in the body’s tissues and can have an impact on day-to-day life. As a Lymphoedema Practitioner, you will have an opportunity to work with people to assist them to self-manage their condition and improve their lives.  You will primarily be working autonomously in an outpatient setting within the Hospital, but also will have the opportunity to see patients in the inpatient setting and alongside district nurses in the community. You will be expected to work closely with other health care professionals providing expert advice and support.

You will be treating patients with primary and secondary lymphoedema and lipoedema, therefore experience of chronic conditions as well as experience in oncology and palliative care would be beneficial.  A qualification in lymphoedema management would be desirable, but candidates with a passion to move into this field would be offered appropriate training, which would involve travelling to a recognised training centre within the UK.

You will work with and have the support of the Lead Lymphoedema Practitioner to continue to develop the service across Ipswich and East Suffolk. There may be an opportunity to extend hours beyond 22.5 per week in line with the service need.
